The exhibition Memory was mounted in 2019 at The Designer Gallery within Westfield Chodov in Prague as a unique fashion-art showcase of original clothing by the late British designer Alexander McQueen.
It marked the first time McQueen’s original garments were presented in the Czech Republic, bringing a slice of his creative legacy directly to a Central European audience.
This project was produced by Milosh Harajda in partnership with The Isabella Blow Foundation, the London-based organization that preserves and promotes the archive built by fashion stylist Isabella Blow, McQueen’s early patron and mentor who purchased his entire graduate collection at Central Saint Martins in 1992.
The Isabella Blow Foundation lent 10 original McQueen garments spanning different periods of his career, including some pieces that had previously featured in the famed Savage Beauty retrospectives in New York and London, curated by institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
To complement the visual display, Westfield Chodov also hosted related programming such as documentary screenings that enriched the audience’s understanding of McQueen’s impact on fashion and culture.
